Fred and Ginger. Fayard and Harold. Gwen and Chita. . . . Northwestern and JUMP RHYTHM! The best dancers come in pairs. For two nights this June, the Jump Rhythm show, âGetting Down, Going Forward,â celebrates with purple pride the synergy between Jump Rhythm® Jazz Project and the creative artistry of NU theatre-dance students. This high-energy, heart-pulsing opener to the Wirtz Centerâs summer season features premieres by JRJP company members â Brandi Coleman (NU adjunct faculty member), Kevin Durnbaugh (NU theatre alum), Billy Siegenfeld (McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence) â and distinguished, soon-to-graduate NU choreographers â Hillary Aarons, Aric Barrow, Katherine Scott. Influenced by the visceral full-bodied rhythm-making at the heart of Jump Rhythm®, these three up-and-coming artists signal the future of dance-theatre in Chicago and beyond!
